Firstly I rigged the growing plant so that it can grow upwards. I created a chain of joints going up both stems, with a joint at the base of each leaf/ group of leaves. I then painted the weights so all of the leaves are weighted to the closest joint. I then created a main control which controls the plant's translate, rotate, scale and visibility. I also added an attribute which controls the plant 'growing'. I used set driven keys to connect this to the joints.

I then textured the plant, with surface shaders, using my production art to create a guide.
I then replaced all of the growing plants in the scene with the rigged ones. I also textured all of the other plants in the scene using surface shaders and also created a guide from my production art for these.
