@Alan Minor: Changes to final 4 metaphors
These are the changes to the last 4 metaphors I have made and an explanation of what happens on each planet. Is there anything else that needs changing, or any part that needs altering so it makes more sense before I move on and finish my pre viz?
Road signs metaphor
This metaphor symbolises me being too cautious when it came to making new friends and talking to people. At the moment the camera pans into the spherical planet where a road runs around it. The camera positions itself in 'a driver's p.o.v.' along the road, the planet spins and warning and caution signs pop up along the road. There are also traffic lights and zebra crossings along the road. I have changed the designs of the signs slightly to incorporate the character purple colour into the design.
Turtle metaphor
This metaphor symbolises me being able to come out of my shell. At the moment the camera pans into the planet which is an island of sand surrounded by some water with waves crashing against the sand. A crab is scuttling on the sand and a turtle sits in the middle of the island. The turtles head is inside its shell but as the camera pans closer the turtle's head slowly comes out of its shell until it is fully out. I didn't know how to incorporate the character purple colour into the turtle design so I decided to add some subtle purple shadows into the turtles shell.

Peacock Metaphor
This metaphor symbolises me learning to express myself more. At the moment as the camera pans into the planet where there is a bandstand in the middle of a park with a tree to one side, a peacock walks onto the bandstand and faces the camera. The lighting then changes to just one spotlight on the peacock as the peacock opens up its feathers. I changed the body colour of the peacock to purple to fit in with the theme of incorporating the characters colours into the design.
Mountain metaphor
This metaphor symbolises me being able to overcome difficulties (e.g. reach the top of a mountain). At the moment the mountain has trees dotted around it and skiers on it and a ski lift going up and down on one side of the mountain. A skier is at the top of the mountain with a flag celebrating, which the camera pans into to see. This skier represents me and so I changed the colour of their outfit to purple to fit in with the colour theme.
Hi Emily. In general, all of the above seem fine as base ideas. I think the adjustments will mainly be in the animation (how things playout/animate) in relation to the complexity of CGI your want to create. For example, do you need crashing water effects? Is there another way to that? In terms of colour, I think you just have a purple turtle - You don't have to be true to the world, its your 'animation world' and you make the rules. Its completely within the logic of your film to have a turtle be purple. What I suggest you do, is to look at each sequence for ways to economise and let the animation logic take over. For example, how 'real' do things need to be. Could you employ an more 'theatre/automaton' look to your worlds, the peacock, the skiers on the lift, or the the turtle. For example...
