  1. Hi Emily. Okay, number one priority - lose the slow bits/pauses in between your narration. Make the time in between much smaller or cut the pause out entirely. Those bits are like watching paint dry for an audience. Apologies for being direct but its the same advice as last year and that 'this scene, wait, this scene, wait..etc' approach really needs to stop now. Until you fix that problem, your animation won't work irrespective of what scenes or models you make.

Lets imagine the audience is looking at a scene animating (room etc) as you talk. The camera can be slowly moving in at the same time getting ready for the next scene. Then as you finish speaking the camera moves up and the room goes down to reveal the next environment behind - does that make sense? Its all happening at the same time, your dialogue, the animated scene, and getting ready for the next shot. Look for economy and fluidity - the audience shouldn't be made to stop and wait. Start by editing your audio to remove the pauses and then use 3D pre-viz to figure out different styles/methods of transitions - They don't need to complex but they do need to happen quickly with the prep happening during the previous scene. Come and chat on Friday and we'll discuss different types/ideas. Hope that helps.
