Character Design Project: Sidekick
In the beginning of my story you might assume that the knight is the main character and the squire is the sidekick but actually the squire is the main character because he is the one who is left to make a last minute escape after the knight has been killed.
My idea is to have the squire wearing the knights 'second-hand' armour and so the armour will look way too big on the squires little body. Also, to fit in with the stain glass style, at the beginning when the knight looks like he is the main hero character he will be illuminated- like sun is shining through the glass and then at the end when the squire is the only one left standing, he will be illuminated.
Also I will be developing the use of lines to create the stain glass effect- like I did here:
I think that I can use a lot less lines on the smaller details- especially on the squire and the castle, by using the natural contours of the designs as the stain glass lines. Also for the ground, to make it look less flat I will use more horizontal lines and use the hills and dips in the ground to create the lines.

Stained glass nervous knight who makes a last minute escape - I had this one last year year, the pen tool is very useful for creating the stained glass lines, also if you use blending modes on glass textures will add to it and take it further...
