Hi Emily. This is an interesting question...Is the Incredible's a true Hero's Journey in the traditional sense? Mr Incredible is already a Hero (that in itself may have been a journey) and an older man. You could argue that he is in the middle of his life and therefore transitioning between being a Hero to being a Mentor. You could also argue that this is his one last chance to be a Hero. So, in the traditional HJ sense, the film is not about a young and naive person becoming a Hero for the first time, more about revival and rebirth. Structurally however, it may follow the steps. Overall, a bit of a mix and more complex example of a Hero's Journey.
