@PHIL What If Metropolis- Final composition and Lighting?
I now have my final composition and a basic version of my concept art:
I like the composition, although Jordan suggested to me that maybe I could shrink it down a little bit so that the temple is a bit smaller so you can see more of the buildings behind it?
Also in terms of lighting I think I want it to be evening/night time because it seems more peaceful and spiritual that way which fits with the idea of the whole city being centred around the religion.
Jordan showed me ways in which I could do this, and this is what he did:
I like how the moonlight looks, and the lights in the windows of the buildings, and I'm thinking of lighting my version this way too? Although I think I will need to find a way to make the temple be less in the shadows?
Any feedback is much appreciated!

Looks awesome! I love the night time version, it makes it seem so much more interesting and fantastical. :) To make the temple less shadowy you could always add more lights in and around it so you have an excuse to make the area a bit brighter. To me it doesn't look too shadowy though, it seems just right!
ReplyDeleteThanks chloe! :)
DeleteNicely atmospheric - but why don't you decide that there's some recessed spotlights in the ground to light up the facade of the temple - to draw attention to it as important? I also think you should consider thinking about the use of coloured glass in some of those windows - I think Miro would approve, don't you?

I think there are opportunities here for putting a bit of theatricality and colour into this scene...
Thanks! yes I like the idea of the coloured glass!
