Bill Plympton is an american animator born in Portland, Oregon. He credits Oregon's rainy climate for allowing him time to develop his imagination and drawing skills. After graduating from university he went onto serve in the National Guard before becoming an illustrator and cartoonist. At the age of 14 he sent Walt Disney some his cartoons, only to be told he was too young.
He went on to produce his own work: including 'Your Face', which went on to be nominated for best animated short at the Oscars in 1988.
