Premise: Character design- further development

In order to develop my characters further towards the final designs I started by working out proportions of my character:

I then developed the face of the character, I was told eyes with pupils would be better, but I think I like that the nose and mouth is kept simple.

I chose version 2 of face, so then I drew out both of the characters:
